Intern: Marketing/Business Development

S & G Endeavors’ delivers strategic planning, meeting facilitation, and organization development services to assist our clients in strengthening collaboration and overall success. Our consultants have over eleven years of experience working with government, non-profit, and for-profit organizations on a variety of strategic planning projects all geared to improving overall effectiveness and efficiency. Position Overview

The Marketing/Business Development Intern will gain firsthand knowledge working with the partners of our company to develop and implement a comprehensive and solid marketing and lead generation approach to generate more clients. This will be accomplished through developing, maintaining and expanding marketing channels/methodologies to the professional community, nonprofit professionals, senior industry and the public at large. In addition, the intern will play a key role in supporting s & G’s growing consulting business. Working alongside an experienced management team, the intern will have full exposure to the day-to-day operation of a small consulting firm while also playing a hands-on role in helping to prospect, pitch and close new clients.
This internship offers a flexible schedule with a fifteen-hour-a-week minimum commitment for three months. This position is a work-from-home position, with preference given to applicants in the Washington DC or Cleveland Ohio areas. A modest stipend of $1,500 may be available, based on applicant qualifications. We are happy to work with any academic requirements you may have, to help you earn course credit for your efforts.

Key responsibilities include

  • Assist with visits and/or arranging meetings with persons responsible for or in a position to refer clients, this includes private, public and non-profit organizations
  • Support the management team in the day-to-day management of client activity
  • Research market activity and new client opportunities
  • Help create presentations for prospective and existing clients
  • Proven experience developing marketing-related or business development plans for strategy or organization development consulting organizations
  • Introductory experience with Management Information Systems and database design
  • Familiarity with Word Press, SalesForce, Constant Contact, listserves, forums, and other content management/database/Internet-based  technologies
  • Familiarity with the field of organization development or strategic planning consulting

Skills and Knowledge to be Gained

  • Specific experience working with a strategic planning and transformation consulting organization that serves a variety of clients of varying backgrounds (including corporate and nonprofit clients).
  • Experience working with database and web content management systems (CMS) including specific work with GoToMeeting, Google Apps, Word Press, and SalesForce.
  • Hands-on experience developing marketing and business development solutions to increase clients.
  • Academic credit, by working with your academic institution’s internship program

Intern: Member Services

Nexus for Change is an international nonprofit that works to broaden and strengthen the field of Whole Systems Change through training and certification, conferences, interactive webinars, small group discussions, and other ways of connecting likeminded individuals (S & G Endeaovrs is a partner in this nonprofit). Since 2007, a variety of pilot programming has been developed to meet the needs of our potential members, but with our formal launch and incorporation in January 2014, we recognize the need to focus on our potential members, and are looking for a go-getter intern that wants to help develop and launch this new membership model and focus. Position Overview

The Member Services Intern will gain firsthand knowledge working with staff and potential members to create and launch the membership program. Work includes assisting with membership outreach, prospect acquisition, website updates, member resource development, event coordination, and appeals.
This internship offers a flexible schedule with a fifteen-hour-a-week minimum commitment for three months.
