Colorado Springs Whole-Scale Workshop Results in Creating On-the-ground Action

Last year, we told you about the Community Walkability Workshop that S&G facilitated for America Walks in colorado Springs. I’m happy to report a result directly related to the action plan they created at that workshop.

The city is moving forward with the creation of an Active Transportation Advisory Committee, which will help to explore the issues of walkability identified during the summit last year. According to the flyer shared with us, “From replacing a short drive with a healthy walk to exploring all there is to see on a bike, Colorado Springs values the active transportation of its citizens.” This new committee will help citizens continue their action they started at the summit last April. Check out the announcement linked below, and stay tuned for other successes from this and other America Walks workshops, facilitated by S&G, last year.
